Bring your own device (BYOD) refers to technology models where students or employees bring a personally owned device to school for the purpose of learning.
There are a number of reasons why schools are moving to BYOD. Although schools and organizations have IT that use on a regular basis, it is difficult to fund a one-to-one laptop program. Many people want to use their own device that they can also use at home and ownership of devices has increased substantially in recent years. With changes in the workforce, students and employees will need to be able to use technology to collaborate and communicate appropriately.
